Couples often come to me feeling a little overwhelmed with the wedding planning and all the decisions to be made. I can help provide guidance on the wedding stationery items to think about for your big day! The wedding stationery sets the tone for the wedding day, giving guests a glimpse of the style of the day. Let’s work through the main stationery options…
Save The Dates
Starting with save the dates, which give guests your wedding date and to advise a formal invitation will follow with all the details. A save the date doesn’t need much wording, the goal is getting the date in your guests’ diaries.
I recommend sending save the dates out around 12-18 months before the wedding day or allow even more time for a destination wedding.
Wedding Invitation
The wedding invitation and details card contain all the essential information for your guests about the wedding day. Including the wedding venue address, timings, taxi numbers and accommodation options. RSVP cards are an essential part of the invite and are a good opportunity to ask for any dietary requirements or for your guests’ favourite song for the evening playlist!
I recommend sending wedding invitations out around 6-9 months before the wedding day, to give guests enough time to respond and to allow time for you to chase any outstanding responses. If you choose to not send a save the date out, then you could opt to send the wedding invitations out sooner.
I have a curated collection of wedding stationery designs available on my website which are a great starting point to see which kind of design you like. All off the collections can be customised to suit the colour palette of your big day.

On the Day Stationery
The on the day stationery covers every stationery item you can think of for the wedding day itself! Including wedding menus, place names, order of services to the larger signage items such as a welcome sign and table plan. Let’s run through them so you can decide which items are right for your big day.
A Welcome Sign
A stylish way to welcome guests as they arrive to your wedding day. A wedding welcome sign is placed at the entrance to the wedding venue and often styled with wedding flowers. I design all the on the day items as part of a cohesive collection to match and to add a pop of colour to your day.

An Order of The Day Sign
To give guests a timeline of what is happening and when on the day. A popular choice amongst couples is to combine the welcome sign with the order of the events sign.
Pat Partridge
An Order of Service
An item of stationery which includes all the information guests need to follow along with your wedding ceremony, whether it be a civil ceremony or church service. You can include all the readings and music details.
A Table Plan Sign
There are so many fun and creative ways to display your table plan but ultimately its purpose is to make it easy for guests to find where they seated. A tip is to avoid small or tricky to read fonts as it really slows down guests.

Table Names/Numbers
Table names or number cards are placed on each table to make it as easy as possible for guests to find their table. I can design in many different shapes and love hearing the interesting names the couples have named their tables after! If you need ideas for table names have a read of this blog post.

Menus
You can choose whether to have a wedding menu per guest, as part of their place setting and which also serves as a great reminder to your guests for what they’ve ordered and any allergies. Or you can choose to have one printed per table.
Place Names
Place names are a gorgeous way to show guests where they are seated. I love using hand drawn calligraphy for place names which really elevates each place setting and can be layered with an individual menu.

Small Signs
I can create small signs for anything you’d like to highlight to your guests on the day, couples opt for bespoke cocktails, a cards and gift sign, in loving memory, a guestbook sign, to show the cake flavours or to have some quotes printed.
