WEDDING INVITE ENVELOPES

When you’re wedding planning you’ll spend time thinking about your colour palette and style for your wedding invitations. But actually, the envelope is the very first impression guests will have of your wedding day, housing the wedding invitation suite with all the important information inside. So, it makes sense to think about how you can make the envelope special too!

There are a few different ways to add a finishing touch to your envelopes so that the overall wedding invitation suite leaves a gorgeous lasting impression on your wedding guests.

Think about how you will address your guests on the envelopes. You may want to take a formal approach and use everyone’s titles. Or instead choose to keep things a bit more informal by using their names.

Consider whether you will be handwriting your envelopes or having them printed. Handwritten envelopes provide another opportunity to personalise your stationery, however it’s important to consider whether you have the time to write each one out neatly! Printed addressed envelopes are a great time saver and provide a seamless, classic look to the envelope.

Having a coloured envelope definitely creates an impact as it arrives to your guest’s homes. I design my wedding invitations as part of a stationery suite with complimentary colours such as the Summer wedding stationery collection, shown here with a dusky pink envelope. All of the colours of the collections can be customised to suit the colour of your big day and the stationery collections include save the dates, invites all the way through to the on the day stationery.

If you’re not sure on a coloured envelope, then a classic white envelope is a popular choice amongst couples.

An envelope liner brings a pop of colour as guests open them up. This bespoke design for a Provence wedding featured a venue illustration as part of the envelope liner. I offer a completely bespoke to you wedding stationery service if you’re looking for something truly unique to you as a couple.

A wax seal always looks stylish and provides a touch of luxury as guests open the envelope. I can provide wax seals in a range of shimmery tones or subtle pastels with a foliage or floral design, or add a bespoke monogram to the wax seal. Here’s the Rosie wedding stationery collection which combines delicate floral illustrations, gold calligraphy and a pretty pink wax seal.
