Carly and Matt held their wedding day at Carly’s family home in Staffordshire, in an elegant marquee. Sadly Bride Carly lost her Mum in July 2017 and this is where she felt the closest to her. Wedding planner Holly from Wonderlust Events helped pull together all the elements and florals needed for the effortless, whimsical wedding theme.
The wedding colour palette was driven by their flowers selected by Jenny Fleur Event Florist, incorporating pampas grass and country garden inspired flowers in colours to complement golds and pinks as requested by Carly.
Photographer Rachel Smuin from Rachel Takes Pictures was on hand to beautifully capture all the special moments.
The elegant marquee supplied by Boutique Marquees was adorned with banks of foliage and florals for an elegant and summery feel.
Inside the marquee the main feature was a stunning floral instillation which included pampas grass, lots of foliage and delicate blooms.
Wedding Styling
The whimsical styling was also brought to life through the on the day stationery and a fabulous table plan. For the table names, the couple chose to name each table after a different Greek Island they had visited. I used gold vinyl calligraphy transferred onto grey hexagonal tiles which looked beautiful as part of the table styling.
The guest place names were a delicate pale blush pink layered onto a menu with modern calligraphy and gold leaf detail. The place name was secured by a small wooden peg and layered with a white feather as a nod to Carly’s Mum.
Holly from Wonderlust Events had a fab idea to use lollipops with escort tags instead of a traditional table plan. Each tag noted each guest names along with their table name and were secured to each lollipop in a meadow of flowers.
I added gold leaf to each of the escort cards to keep them consistent with the other on the day stationery.
Wedding Outfits
Carly wore a stunning figure hugging, intricate dress with spaghetti straps and beautiful 3D embellishments. The dress was a bespoke Riki Dalal design. The bride wore sentimental jewellery from her Mum- a unique diamond shaped ring and a pair of her Mum’s earrings which were made into a diamond necklace. The bride’s diamond earrings belonged to her aunty.
Matt wore a summer-weight tweed suit from Hugo Boss paired with a Marc Daisy waistcoat and a soft blush tie accessorised with his late grandad’s watch.
The bridesmaids wore Chi Chi London gowns in blush pink with embroidered flowers. Matt’s daughter who was a mini bridesmaid wore a pretty pink dress with a lace embroidered top by Roco. Natalie Morgan Hair styled the bridesmaid’s hair and added fresh flowers to complement the bouquets.
Wedding Car
After the church service the bride and groom drove back to the reception venue in Carly’s dad’s E-type Jaguar but had to stop off for petrol on their way!
Thank you Carly and Matt for letting me be a part of your beautiful wedding day! Here’s some more images from their day…..
