Roxy and Ali got married in London the year before with an intimate gathering of their closest family and chose to celebrate again, this time with all their family and friends! The couple had a beautiful outdoor blessing in the grounds of wedding venue Island Hall in Godmanchester, Cambridgeshire. A gorgeous mix of vibrant yet chic styling from Hall & Co Event Design, incorporating Persian elements such as hanging lanterns and shisha lounges. Alternative wedding photographer Lex Fleming captured all the fab details.
The blessing took place amongst the tree-lined walkway on the island and was led by a close friend of the couple for a personal touch. Hall & Co Event Design created a horseshoe of organic, meadow- style floral arrangements to frame the couple during the ceremony, made up of pretty seasonal florals and statement blooms to accompany the Persian rugs. Along the aisleway smaller growing arrangements were placed for a gorgeous boho style look.
Marquee Wedding Breakfast
The couple chose a glasshouse marquee for the wedding breakfast and reception, which was styled with hanging coloured glass lanterns by supplier Park Light. Two large foliage clouds consisting of lush green foliage and some of the bolder colours from the wedding flowers were installed in the marquee ceiling.
The long banquet wedding tables were styled with an assortment of terracotta vases filled with vibrant blooms and foliage. To add some pops of colour, taper candles were displayed in tones of beige, terracotta and pale blue, amongst amber glass goblets and gold cutlery to create a beautiful array of different textures.
For each place setting, Roxy and Ali chose a menu, place name and paperclip option from my stationery. I hand calligraphered each guest name in a gold ink onto a beige place name card which was layered onto a deep orange wedding menu with white text and a white calligraphy header. I loved the colour contrast the menus brought to the table.
Wedding Signage
The table plan was another opportunity for a pop of colour with the deep orange and white text and my hand drawn calligraphy, suspended onto a golden frame.
Wedding Couple Styling
Bride Roxy looked stunning in her strapless bridal gown with beautiful detailing on the black and a loose skirt with a slit and curled hair for a boho feel. Roxy’s bouquet incorporated a variety of seasonal blooms in shades of nude, peach, coral, apricot and blush with pops of yellow. Groom Greg wore a pale blue linen suit with a white shirt and floral blue tie.
The bridesmaids wore a selection of styles and colours of dresses which blended with all the tones used throughout the day. Each of the bridesmaids held floral bouquets in a similar style to Roxy but with slightly different flowers to accompany their different dresses.
Thank you Roxy and Ali for having me as one of your wedding suppliers. I really enjoyed working on this bold summer wedding. I wish the couple all the happiness for their future together. Here’s a couple more photos from their wedding day….
