BOLD RUSTIC SUMMER OUTDOOR WEDDING

This beautiful bold styled wedding shoot was inspired by the desirability of a destination wedding, with warmth, romance and rustic luxury in mind. Rosie Hart, hair and make-up artist, led the creative concept and co-organised the shoot with VLA Photography.

The outdoor ceremony was set up in the grounds of venue Gate Street Barn, a secluded setting in the Surrey hills. Gate Street Barn offers a stunning oak beam barn, woodlands, onsite accommodation and a working farm enabling couples to tailor their dream country wedding set up.

The styling and décor combined bright pops of colour with flowers, accessories and beautiful drapes of material. All of these gorgeous details were captured by Jon and Laura from VLA photography. The stunning ceremony arch from Surrey Wedding Company was dressed with beautiful dark orange and blush pink drapes which provided a fab backdrop for the shoot.

The creative mood board was brought to life with a mixture of foliage combined with florals featuring toffee roses, bronze amaranth and warm, rich dahlias. Paired with long stem, fluffy pampas grass to add dimension and volume.

Alfresco Wedding Table Styling

Accessories, trinkets, candles and ornaments were all styled as part of the wedding breakfast table. The florals were placed into an assortment of bronze vases. I loved the gorgeous crockery, colour pop of the bright linen and the gold cutlery for a luxury feel.

I designed the table name with white hand drawn calligraphy on an earthy brown background which was placed in a gold frame. The table name blended seamlessly with the different colours and textures on the wedding table.

I added a fluffy tassel as a gorgeous extra detail for each guest’s place setting. The guest names were calligraphered in gold on to a neutral place name card, layered onto a wedding menu with a touch of calligraphy in white on coral card.

Wedding Table Plan

I adore being creative with table plans and wedding signage. The table plan for this shoot used grey calligraphy on a loose fabric, fixed to a copper frame for a rustic boho feel.

Earthy Wedding Stationery

Earthy wedding stationery is a great choice because it blends well with so many other colours you may choose to include within the styling of your big day. This wedding invitation was based on The Hollie stationery collection, customised to an earthy burnt orange.

All the designs within the collection on my website can be customised to another colour palette or print finish.

Wedding Cake

The fabulous 2 tier wedding cake created by Fig and Flora showcased the bold colour scheme. The cake was placed on a gold stand on a rustic trolley, decorated with flowers and various trinkets.

The Bride and Groom’s Outfits

The bride wore the ‘Darcy’ gown by Modeca from Bride by Aster, with a stunning low back and long floaty sleeves for a timeless yet boho look. The bride’s make up by Rosie was in line with the relaxed, rustic summer theme, using a pop of colour with a burnt orange eyeliner and a neutral warm lip for a natural sun kissed glow.

The groom wore a 3-piece grey suit by Dapper and Suave with a white shirt, a floral print bow tie and matching pocket square for a touch of colour.

Rosie styled the bride’s hair into a loose bun, accessorised with two beautiful beaded hairvines by Eden B Studio.
